Flying it around in heavy 2048 resolution clouds wasnt a performance killer like it was before. If this is your first visit, welcome Please note that you will need to.This will give you the info you need to get started flying and using.Fiber Accelerator, a product that will take FSX again to the.
FSX these changes stay until you quit FSX and insert another tweak. FSX, we are directly, in real-time, dynamically inserting FSX tweaks. Target Frame Rate. This will be the number of frames FSX will try to. My PC is mid to high, i.e. Intel i7 3.40GHz, 8GB RAM, 1GB Nvidia GTX680, Win7 64bit, with Bojotes tweaked cfg, and FSX settings at the high end and the difference was very noticeable. I set the minimum frame rate at 24 and it maintained it, easily exceeding it for the majority of the time. In fact the overall smoothness of the taxi, take off and climb was, IMO, excellent. I have noticed that some minor textures like tiny houses and trees do pop up in the far distance, but this really isnt an issue for me because theyre so small and the increased performance is well, well worth it. This is a subjective opinion so you may want to wait for more objective data before purchasing yourself. Perhaps I did something wrong, but FSX was running with low fps. I went back to FSX Extreme Booster and I got my usual good results. Too bad because I was expecting to be better than the Extreme Booster. As I said, it was a subjective opinion based on my own observations. I tried Fiber with 12 refresh rate still active and got poor results with Fiber. I set NI vsync to standard and force on, locked frame rates to 60 in FSX (monitor refresh rate is at 70), loaded up the PMDG 777 at KJFK with dense autogen, thunderstorm via ASN, and 20 AI(My Traffic Pro 5.4C). Started Fiber at 18 FPS.pretty much stayed there even with the active mouse cursor issue I always had. I then tried 20, 25 and then 30 as the low FPS in Fiber. ![]() Fiber never moved the FSX frames to unlimited, as it will do if you set the lower FPS too high for your particular system. When I have used the 12 refresh rate in NI, the active mouse cursor with the PMDG 777 and 737 would always cause 10-12 FPS loss. So far Fiber has calmed this down considerably, which makes flying those 2 aircraft more enjoyable for me. I did try the Fiber demo until I couldnt use it anymore and was very pleased with it once I removed the 12 refresh rate option in NI. As a matter of fact, I initially sent FSPS an email at my displeasure with Fiber and they quickly responded with some suggestions, but nothing to do with NI. At any rate, I will be doing some long haul flights to see how well it performs over a much longer period and different weather scenarios, but a heavy thunderstorm at KJFK with the PMDG 777 was enough for me to be convinced that it does help considerably.
